Plot

Kabul, August 15, 2021. US troops are preparing to withdraw from Afghanistan, while the Taliban are marching on the capital to seize power. Amid the chaos, Commander Mohamed Bida and his men are in charge of security at the French embassy, the last Western mission to remain open. Trapped along with 500 people, left to their own devices, the team must reach the airport at all costs. A perilous mission with no guarantee of success to flee the hell of Kabul and rescue what remains of humanity.

About 13 Days, 13 Nights

13 Days, 13 Nights (French: 13 Jours, 13 Nuits) is a 2025 political thriller film directed by Martin Bourboulon, co-written with Alexandre Smia and based on Mohamed Bida's non-fiction novel of same name. It stars Roschdy Zem as Bida, alongside Lyna Khoudri and Sidse Babett Knudsen, and follows the 2021 evacuation of the French Embassy in Kabul during the Taliban takeover. The film had its world premiere out of competition of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on 23 May. It was theatrically released in France on 27 June by Pathé. It received generally positive reviews, with critics praising Zem's performance, but under-performed at the French box office despite its €30 million budget.
