Plot

United by a shared oath to save lives, three American doctors—Palestinian, Jewish, and Zoroastrian—work in a besieged hospital in Gaza in the middle of a genocide comitted by Israel, and return to the United States to fight for the patients and colleagues they left behind.

American Doctor is a 2026 documentary film directed by Poh Si Teng. The film follows three American physicians of diverse backgrounds who travel to Gaza to provide medical aid during the conflict. It premiered in the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2026, and was released in the United States on August 14, 2026, by Watermelon Pictures.
