Plot

Leo and Ava chase each other—coming close, drifting apart, and searching for their way back. They cannot let go, nor break free. Through the rooms, Ava’s voice echoes across time, carrying to the surface what endures—and what can no longer be held back.

About The Echo Chamber

The Echo Chamber is a 2026 romantic drama film directed by Andrea Pallaoro, written by Bernardo Bertolucci (in his final screenplay before his death in 2018), Ilaria Bernardini and Ludovica Rampoldi. A co-production of Italy and Belgium, it stars Luca Marinelli, Alicia Vikander, and Susan Sarandon. The film had its world premiere in the main competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on 6 September 2026, where it competed for the Golden Lion. It will be theatrically released in Italy by 01 Distribution on 10 September.
